PIF CEO- Rosemary Smithson

PIF CEO Rosemary Smithson

In 1996 leaders of industry in NSW formed the Property Industry Foundation to mobilise its resources to assist charitable organisations providing services to youth at risk. The Foundation has grown to become the preeminent charity within the property industry.

PIF CEO Rosemary Smithson guided Matt Noffs in the early days of STU’s conception and introduced the key PIF architects (Crone Partners), Project Manager’s (Gleeds Australia) and engineers (ARUP) to the team.

Thanks to Property Industry Foundation CEO Rosemary Smithson and her incredible board, The Street University was designed and built by some of the best in the construction business.

Other organisations and individuals that took part due to PIF’s involvement included:

Steve Rowe and Gleeds Australia:

Since Gleeds Australia was launched in 2005, they have developed a portfolio worth more than AU$8 billion. It includes projects across the residential, commercial, leisure and hotel, and government sectors nationwide.

Steve Rowe was the project manager of The Street University project from Gleeds and made the most complex construction matters seem simple.

Stephen Harris and Crone Partners:

Established 1964, Crone Partners Architecture Studios today provides architecture to the global community bringing about creativity through diversity and expansion of ideas, developing the most thoughtful environment for people to live and experience.

Stephen Harris was the chief architect behind the Street University’s construction. He made the impossible possible, including somehow squeezing in a mezzanine level into the warehouse space.
