On the 21st of January the street university welcomed one of the most influential rap groups in the modern day, Dead Prez. Dead Prez have been at the forefront of the revolutionary hip hop movement since the 90s and have blessed the street university with a talk to an almost full house of people. People came from all over Sydney to hear the prophets speak, to ask them questions, and also to get a picture and autograph with the living legends. Dead Prez spent an hour talking to all their fans and did not fail to inspire as many followed them to their show at the Gaelic Theatre in Sydney, which proved to be one of the dopest shows till date.

Prince Williams Visit

Last week the Street University boys “welcomed” Prince William and our own Kevin Rudd to the Ted Noffs Foundation. This was a great opportunity to express to the Prime Minister and the Monarchy the problems facing people in South Western Sydney such as drugs, poverty and the lack of resources available. The Prime minister was not expecting such confronting lyrics and seemed quite red face in front of the Fresh Prince. Conversations with the prince were cut short as K. Rudd did not want to continue such discussions. The images from the visit were seen all over the world, though the message exploited through the media was somewhat different.
